PGN-Filter 1.0:

The project to sort out white variants from a pgn-formatted chess game emerged
by the urge to see the results of a long-term opening research. The author had
created a pgn-file with more than 4000 variants and wanted to know what the best
options for White are. All variants good for White ended with a white half-move,
good ones for Black with a full move. This was done by Thomas Hall. Many thanks.

If I am right there was already a tool called like this so the name might
