Today (Wednesday, April 21) was a particularly bad day for technical problems at CCC, but we have been experiencing this same problem for the last two months. Every three or four days our cgi-scripts fail usually for an hour or two. Today we were down for a total of about 6 hours. Our ISP informed us that it happens because of the activity on CCC which is much higher than any other site on our server and exceeds what the server is capable of handling. They have given us several alternatives most of which entail additional monies to be spent, but we are trying to make changes without increasing the expense of running the CCC. We have requested that our site be placed on one of the ISP's new servers. These servers are less populated and faster than the older server which has been our home for the last year. This should decrease the frequency of downtime, but will probably only delay the inevitable as CCC becomes more and more popular. Thanks for all of the emails notifying us of the problem. We have spent a good portion of today working toward a final solution. Let's all collectively cross our fingers. - Steve (ICD/Your Move)
