In my tournaments -varying from mostly 1,0 3,0 5,0 to 30,0- Fritz5.32 beat Crafty 16.6 25-16 (with 8 draws). Against 16.1 Fritz wins with 13-10 (6 draws) Against 16.2 Fritz wins with 9,5-5,5 (1 draw) Against 16.3 Fritz wins with 5,5-3,5 (1 draw) Against 16.5 Fritz wins with 11-7 (4 draws) Total score 64-42 (20 draws) All Crafty's are Fritz-engines provided through ChessBase. It seems that the engines used for Fritz GUI are (slightly) tweaked. In any case Crafty 16.6 under Fritz GUI has_not_got tablebases like the Winboard/Xboard version. Maybe all that makes the difference. And above all: there are too many parameters to draw conclussions from a few games. The first Junior-Fritz blitz was a smash for Fritz, the next vice versa. Same time controls. Maybe different choice of openings....who knows. Don't rush to conclusions. Jeroen ;-}
