If the position is going to repeat after your move, you can claim the draw. It is required that you write down your move in the scoresheet, but it is not neccesary to play it over the board (if the claim is faulty you are forced to do the move you wrote down). It can also confuse a computer, which might want to draw the game but play the move instead of claiming the draw. José.
