Fritz 5.32 (with all service packs) can't correctly evaluate some of the positions in the following game. At move 12 white could have forced a perpetual check, but as the line continues, Fritz gives increasingly positive values for white, when in fact they should be negative and getting worse. For the position after 19. Rhg1 [epd = r1b3k1/ppp1b1r1/1nnp4/5P2/2PP4/2NB4/PP2NP1P/2KR2R1 b - - ] Fritz gives a +34 for 19...Rxg1 20. Rxg1+ Kf8 Rg4 at 11 ply, but the instant the move 19...Rxg1 is actually made, the evaluation reverses to -50 with the line 20 Rxg1+ Kf7. What gives? Crafty handles these positions correctly. Is this some kind of pruning/selective searching issue??
