Well, that is a valid opinion, however, Fritz proved that opinion wrong in 1995 at WCCC 8 by beating the big iron (tied Deep Thought in the tournament) and then won the play off (if I have my facts wright). :) Cilkchess claims 600K nodes/sec, not sure what Ferret will run at (or on), but Ferret has had good results in the past. So at least three contenders can be considered. Fritz, Ferret, Cilkchess. I would not rule out Hiarcs or Rebel. So on with the poll, check the WCCC home page and read about the programs, then make your selection (or just make your selection). :) Note: I have not decided on my picks yet, but I may post just to get a discussion (opinions different from mine) going. :) Best Regards, Chris Carson
