I have heard that the games were game in 60 and game 30, and Fritz won
convincingly 5.5 - 2.5. But I have a question; what was the distrobution of the
draws and wins over the time controls?
On the official webpage they have this:
ápr. 27. ápr. 28. ápr. 29. ápr. 30.
Polgár--Fritz
14oo-16oo 0.5--0.5 0.5--0.5 0--1 1--0
Fritz--Polgár
16oo-17oo 0.5--0.5 1--0 1--0 1--0
I may be misreading this but: the upper row is the scores for game in 60
(because two hours of time was allocated), and the lower row game in 30 (because
only one hour was allocated).
If this is the case, then Polgar actually drew Fritz at game in 60!
Which means that Polgar lost .5 - 3.5 at game in 30.
Now then if Polgar loses .5 - 3.5 at G/30, and in double the amount of time,
G/60, she draws 2 - 2, then the simplest logic tells us that in double G/60, or
40/2 tournament time) then Polgar will defeat Fritz 3.5 - .5!!!
