With his new release 5.1, Jon seems to have got a very solid player. In a series of games against Crafty 16.6 (Secret, 2 cpus), Arasan won at least 3 games. If he can stay above 2600 another week, he's outta here. We have a new member joining the fray, Galahad by James Swafford. The worthy successor to Tristram, Galahad can be found at the ICC account name jlong. Good luck, James! Games played leader, as usual, was Hossa, with 589. One new high was recorded, that by Arasan (2649). Changes I included the inactive and graduated lists this time. Probably will do this occasionally. XXXX-2 goes inactive. u2600 Position of the Week The following position is from the game Amateur - E-tal, played this week on ICC (5 2 u). This position should be easily solved by the commercials, so I would recommend this one to the amateur's only. You might use this to work on your extensions or qsearch, if it turns out that, like Amateur, you couldn't avoid RxR in blitz time. (btw, I beat E-tal the next game, so there.) r6k/1Np2p1p/p3bqpb/4p3/4Pn2/2Pr2R1/1PQ2PPP/R1B3K1 w - - am Rxd3 ply score time nodes pv 2 -36 0.03 2577 3 53 0.05 2828 Rxd3 Nxd3 Bxh6 Qh4 4 57 0.13 7557 Rxd3 Nxd3 Bxh6 Qh4 Bg7 Kxg7 Qxd3 5 57 0.22 14121 Rxd3 Nxd3 Bxh6 Qh4 Bg7 Kxg7 Qxd3 6 28 1.14 54443 Rxd3 Bb3 Qxb3 Ne2 Kh1 Nxc1 Rxc1 Bxc1 6 30 2.23 110519 Bxf4 Rxg3 Bxg3 Bf4 Bxf4 Qxf4 Rd1 Rb8 7 23 4.25 213955 Bxf4 Rxg3 Bxg3 Bg4 Qd3 Bg7 Nc5 a5 7 43 6.40 315165 Rxd3 Nxd3 Bxh6 Nxb2 Qxb2 g5 Bf8 Rxf8 Rxa6 8 46 13.07 645337 Rxd3 Nxd3 Bxh6 Nf4 Bxf4 Qxf4 Nc5 Bc4 Qa4 Bb5 9 -198 50.16 2563830 Rxd3 Bb3 Qd2 Nxd3 Qxd3 Bxc1 9 22 80.57 4181148 Bxf4 Rxg3 Bxg3 Bg4 Nc5 Bg7 Qb3 a5 Qb7 Qd8
