I joined CCC and RGCC a few months ago and as I was getting started with my interest in computer chess, I found Bob Hyatt's informative postings most educational and a big reason for me to keep coming back day after day. I soon noticed the high noise to signal ratio of RGCC and focused on CCC. Without Bob's postings this is a much drier, boring place, at least for me. For the longest time I was most impressed with Bob's patience with all those stupid postings by Rolf and others, but one can only take it so long... so I totally understand where Bob is coming from and I would have done the same long before he did. But still, I wish Bob would give this place another chance, not because of or for the moderators, but for the regular Joe like me, that still has a lot of things to ask about, lots of things that need clarification, to talk about bitboards, and extensions and null move and crafty and history of computer chess and hash tables... Regarding the "GM posting" here a few days ago, I feel it was not meant to offend, but people can see the effect that it has had on Bob to see his name and past comments used to start a controversy. I wish the moderators go back to doing their "job" of moderating instead of "splitting hairs" or arguing with Bob. So Bob, if you are reading this, pleaaaase reconsider your participation in this place. I think that the vast majority of the folks here would be ecstatic to see your insightful comments and advice again, based on your experience and practice. Greg
