Obviously you missed the thread about "knowledge" programs.

You CANNOT say that Junior has less knowledge than Hiarcs just by looking at the
node per second measure. You could not even say so if you had the source code of
both programs.

I thought it was clear that "knowledge program" means nothing (or at least that
a definition is still missing). Dave Gomboc tried to give the begining of a
definition, and he has credits for this. His idea was interesting, but
unfortunately I did not find the time to reply.

For me your question sounds a little bit like:

  "Do chess programs have a soul?"
