Tony,

Your in the right place.  I think type of topic has been discussed
before here, but not this particular protocol.  There is a GUI that
many engines (comercial, freeware, privateware) use:

Tim Mann developed and there is source code/executables for Windows
and Unix at his web page.  There is also a listing of some of the
engines that use this GUI.

Not sure if this helps, but from what I read of the spec, this is
a close match (but not the same).
