Hey Karinsdad! I got a bit dizzy reading about Renard :) I agree it's all a matter of degrees. Anyway here is my definition of fixing:- A prearranged result that enables someone to win a prize, title or rating points Some GM draws are to that end, apparently very prevalent in US Swiss tournaments in the last round. I still think many draws are simply because the two GM's involved are out of the picture and want a day off. Chess can be more like a job to GM's I suppose. Maybe CHess should take the lead from Soccer, which was suffering from draw death, now it's 3 points for a win 1 for a draw. Too bad about Bob and Ed...I have no idea what's going on, all I know is that the RGCC was a disgrace so some moderation is necessary.
