Subject: Constructive ideas for moderation

It would be nice to solve the moderation problem, because this is the only place
on the web where computer chess can be discussed now that RGCC is dead. I have
two ideas (and welcome others):

1) Consensual moderation. Here, there are no moderators...we all moderate the
group together. How? Some slick programmer creates a way to attach a counter to
each post. Any reader can cast a vote (only once) to increment the
counter...when the counter reaches some threshold value (we might to experiment
on that), it is automatically removed by the system. If a post is removed,
there's no one to blame...it's all anonymous and driven by the community.

2) Have an alternate "open" area inside CCC where anyone can post about
anything. Yep, this basically creates an RGCC inside CCC, but it gives those
whose messages have been censored a feeling of immunity from moderation. If you
dont want to read the unmoderated forum, you don't have to. If you don't want to
post there, you don't have to.

Any other ideas? We should brainstorm...this is much valuable a forum to just
let it die. There really isn't anywhere else to go.

Roger
