I think this place is useful and reasonable, on the whole. Sometimes there are big fights but this is true anytime people interact passionately. I don't think that this reflects poorly upon *you*. I will say that the predecing 4.5 months have been relatively calm, except for a few cases where people got their heads cut off and fountained blood all over everything. Not worse than the preceding six months, which was characterized by episodes of projectile vomiting, and on the balance possibly better. Anything is better than opening the floodgates for people whose idea of a good time is a prolonged campaign of destruction and mayhem. Worst case is that we do the Orwell thing here for another month and a half, and then, unless the moderator nomination posts are all deleted, we get to send three more innocents through hell until New Year's. I think that six-month elections are an excellent idea. We don't spend all of our time having elections, we don't have to deal with the same moderators for years on end, and the period of torture for the moderators is kept within tolerable limits. bruce
