I got my copy in last week. The interface is very nice, and looks a lot like Fritz 5.32 in appearance. Relentless attacker, the thing doesn't seem to be geared to making the absolute best move, but instead to moves that will take you into lines in which you're likely to get crushed. If you download the patch at www.oxford-softworks.com, you can vary its strength, but the program still beats me on its easiest setting. I can beat most of the chessmaster 6000 personalities rated between 2000-2100 (these ratings are inflated, of course), so I'm not THAT bad. I understand you can create personalities for it, but I didn't see a way to do that from within the interface. On the whole, I like it, because I had the extra money to spend on it. If I had a choice between CSTal II and Fritz 5.32, I'd take Fritz. If I had a choice between CSTal II and Chessmaster 6000, I'd take Chessmaster, which is also much cheaper. I haven't tried any of the auto232 stuff. Roger On May 07, 1999 at 20:16:19, Richard Heldmann wrote: >Any comments on CSTAL2? Is it a 'strong' program?
