haircs is clearly the best endgame player!! a program that plays say bishop and knight versus king perfectly is usually a table base program. this is also seen in endings such as queen versus rook when m-chess announces "mate in 28 move" very good but not seen very often! the point i am trying to get across is that bishop and knight versus lone king is rarely seen and it is the other endgames in which hiarcs excells! a program should not be judged by the fact that is does not have a endgame table base. players have to learn that a good endgame player or program is one that in a tactical middle game sees that the liquidation of material into the endgame is one that will favour it. and sorry to fritz or rebel lovers but in this respect hiarcs wins the prize!!!!
