Thanks for this site -- especially for the PGN games. However, while your information content is interesting, all the pretty animated gifs are still making your page extremely painful to view over a slow modem connection. Try setting yourself a budget: the total size (text + all images) on any one page should be at most 20 kbytes. Some of your pages have multiple animated gifs that are each ten times that, for no good reason that I can see. Sticking to such a limit should have the result of improving the design (and not just reducing the bandwidth) because it will force you to think more deeply about how to effectively communicate your content. You're in good company: there are many other useful but extremely annoyingly decorated sites on the web -- TWIC comes to mind. 20k would be unreasonably small for a page devoted to actual pictures (anyone going to take a camera to the WCCC?) but shouldn't be a problem for chess.
