Hello

I am one who uses chess programs for study purpose and practice for chess
tournaments, and since I got good results with it , I would like to give my
opinion about these new chess programs, but first some basic views:

1) When you are training for a Tournament, you should find an opp which bring
into the board plans, strategies and manouvers because that what you will find
in tournaments, and THAT´s what masters do that you don´t (by the way, I believe
this is means you will say after the game " I loose the game and I don´t know
where I went wrong " .

2) Of course you should have to train tactical skills, because if you don´t you
will loose a game with a big BLUNDER ! A friend of mine could not win good
games, because he miss lost of tactical simple moves.

Well, since I believe it´s more important to develop the strategy, manouvre and
plan skills, of course I believe you should buy an intelligent chess program:
and you will be able to train tactical and combination with it too.... these
programs are not really bad in tactical skills, but the are just a little slow
(but who cares, when training, if a program will find the right combination in 1
second or 4 seconds ??)
So, what I mean is: an intelligent chess program will give you oportunity to
train manouvres , plan and stragey skills and tactical skills too.

So this is a list of the best chess programs (in my own opinion) that could meet
the requirements for training: (the order is alphabetical order)
Chess System Tal (Win or DOS version)
Hiarcs 7 (or even Hiarcs 6)
Rebel 10

So, if you want to help me and add to this list others, fell free to do it

Thanks in advance
Ricardo Sant´Ana
