Of course, I checked out CSTal II (18 f5 in 3:45 on my P Pro200) -- so far it's level with LGG2.0, both having scored as White. I set this one up as a 40/2 game, on two machines. CM6000 was running on a P5 at 180Mhz, so at a 'slight disadvantage'. In fact, it chose to play a King's Gambit, one of the sharpest opening lines, and did itself no favours with its choice on move 6. 1. e4 e5 2. f4 exf4 3. Nf3 g5 4. h4 g4 5. Ne5 Nf6 6. Bc4 d5 7. exd5 Bg7! (not played from book) 8.Nc3 and this, now out of book, is not so good (8. d4) ...O-O 9. d4 Nh5 10. Nxg4 Ng3 and with his last two moves, Black is starting to win already...11. Rh2 Qe7+ 12. Kf2 h5 13. Bxf4 Bxg4 14. Qd3 Nf5 15. Nb5 Na6! 16. Re1 Qd7 17. Be5 c6 18. dxc6 bxc6 19. Na3 Nb4 20. Qd2 Rfe8 21. Bxg7 Kxg7 22. Rxe8 Rxe8 23. c3 Qd6 24. Kg1 Qg3 25. Bf1 Re1 26. Qg5+ Kh7 27. Rh3 Bxh3 28. Qxg3 Nxg3 29. Kf2 Rxf1+ 30. Kxg3 Nd3 31. Kxh3 and here I'm ashamed to say Black played the distinctly un-Tal-like ...Nxb2? (although wishing to spare all, the adjudicator tactfully awarded the decision at this point), failing to see the relatively-easy Mate in 6 starting ...Nf2+ and then ...Ng4(+). Even 'old' Genius4 finds that in 50 secs, LGG 2.0 in 1:32. Apart from that (and the not-so occasional skin-of-the-teeth decision) CSTal II plays a fine game. *
