Go to www.chessbaseusa.com and take a look at T-Notes for January 24, 1999;
you'll find a number of explanations and solutions for problems with the Search
Mask. Among them, briefly:

1) ALWAYS click the "reset all" button before starting a new search (this is the
most common problem -- somebody does a search for an offbeat opening and forgets
to reset the search mask, then types in a player name for a new search. The old
search criteria are still there from the previous search, so they wind up
looking for all of Fischer's Grob games as White).

2) Make sure you're typing Kasparov in the left-hand box (the search mask works
like a phone book -- last name first, first name last).

3) Make sure you've capitalized the K in Kasparov (the search mask is
case-sensitive).

4) Make sure you're in the correct database (that you haven't accidentally
selected a different database than the one you intended to search.

5) Make sure the program is refueled.
