The thing I do not understand is that Deep Blue used a super computer. I have
not looked further into the exploits of deep blue, but has it ever lost to any
other commecial programs, has it lost games, or as well series of games by other
commercial programs ever.

If so, then this proposed deep blue will have to run on standard hardware that
the rest of the engines do.

So getting to the point, if deep blue lost to another commercial software
program while it was running on a super computer, then I would assume you take
that super computer away and it will be very much weaker, would it even be in
the range of top programs.

It beat kasparov, but Fritz beat Polgar very easily, and we have just had the
series of junior ga,es played it which it did well.

I would like to see Kasparov (since he seems to be the benchmark) play other top
commercials and see what the result is, because you might find that Deep Blue
when it was around and DB chip if it ever arrives might not be all that great.

And I am sure that if it is, that we will have other chips on the market to
rival it.

But lets also look that how many people would buy the DB chip (not many), or
nowhere in the numbers of commercial chess programs on the market now. So as for
the stated price then market trendswould have to show that it will be more
expensive.

I personally think it is a whole lot of crap. The so called great chess playing
machine chip. Until I see some firm facts about it. I can make up a whole lot
great stories too.

Want to hear how I heard about all the great new features being put into CM7000,
it has all the things you liked in Fritz, Rebel, Hiarcs. And it will be $10 more
cheaper than it is now.

I have heard so many things, but to say it will happen, well that is another
thing, let alone if it is even true.

Boys dreaming about little toys. Is it a dream or will it be fact. My opinion,
a dream that will dissapoint.
