Here's a beautiful example of marketing. They are using "-based" in a completely misleading manner, presumably to sell more RS/6000 SP machines. Deep Blue is based upon the hardware chess chips, plain and simple. Nothing else contributes more to its performance. The host computer could have been any number of machines. >Gregor Dave
