Please tel me it ain't so... How come when programs search ot a depth of 15, 20, 30 moves, they can find mates. Agreed it takes a much longer time, but I think that the deeper a program can search, the better position can be found. Then again, it depends upon the evaluation subroutine. Some are much better that others. Bill
