In the preparation for the latest match vs. Kasparov, Deep Blue Junior won at
roughly a 3:1 ratio against GM players at tournament time control. I cannot
cite my source. You can take my words for whatever you feel they are worth, and
I will not be offended if you dismiss them on the account that I cannot back
them up with concrete evidence. I am not sure how commercial programs do at
tournament time control, but 3:1 against human GMs doesn't actually seem out of
reach.

I found Soltis' comments on the game he won in the Velimirovic to be pretty
interesting. Maybe you can get hold of the copy of Chess Life that includes the
game. Unfortunately I don't own it, I had just read a copy of another
chessplayer who was a USCF member as well as a CFC member and had brought the
issue it to the chess club.
