Although Mark said there would not be an engine for Hiarcs 7, that does not mean
that he was not allowed to change his mind. Besides, with the new technology
available, multiple processors, the way computer chess software is heading is
towards parallel processing. And DOS is only a 16 bits program and does not
support parallel processing. I understand your anger, however, one should not
put blame on the programmer, after all, he has to make a living, and the
pressures of economics can make one change his/her mind of how to sell one's
product. It's supply and demand. You paid for what it was worthy at that time,
it's like Real State, you go and buy a house hoping, or better, in your forecast
you believe that the price of Real State will go up. Then the opposite happens,
the price drops 50% and now you are locked into a mortage rate which is very
high, and there's absolutely nothing you can do. If you waited a little longer
perhaps you could have saved a lot of money. And that happens a lot in the
world. So try not to be pissed and try to enjoy the software and get most of it.
Next time, be wiser and understand the laws of economics, supply and demand.
