I have a Renaissance and like it. It is wood, it is big (52x52 cm), has nice
features as a user-programmable opening book, can be connected with the PC, and
can be upgraded with some nice modules. Without a module it plays weak (ca
1400-1500 Elo SSDF). But there are similar modules still available
(www.niggemann.com): the Analyst/Maestro modules (ca. 1800-1900 Elo SSDF), and
the Brute Force module (2018 Elo SSDF). The Analyst/Maestro modules are
programmed by Julio Kaplan, the programm (8 Bit) has a good positional play, but
is tactical a little bit weak. The opening-book is big (100.000 moves). The
Brute Force module is programmed by Frans Morsch (Fritz), has hash-tables and a
opening book of 24.000 moves.
