Here are three trouble-maker positions. They have been pounded mercilously on a PIII 500 MHz for ten hours and still get the 'wrong' answer. What I would like to know (from chess experts) is if the suggested moves (pm) really are inferior to the best moves (bm) recorded in the test suites. If they are inferior, then what is the correct trajectory for the given best move that results in a superior evaluation? # Epd bm pm ce - ------------------------------------------------------------- --- --- -- 0 r1bqkb1r/pp3ppp/2nppn2/6B1/3NP3/2N5/PPP2PPP/R2QKB1R w KQkq - Qd2 Bb5 53 1 r1bqkb1r/ppp1pppp/1nn5/4P3/2PP4/8/PP4PP/RNBQKBNR w KQkq - Be3 Nf3 -38 2 rnbqkb1r/pppp1ppp/5n2/4p3/4PP2/2N5/PPPP2PP/R1BQKBNR b KQkq f3 d5 d6 -2 # pv - ------------------------------------------------------------------- 0 Bb5 Bd7 Nb3 a6 Be2 Bc8 O-O Be7 Qd2 O-O Rad1 Ne8 Be3 Bh4 Bf4 e5 1 Nf3 Bf5 a3 e6 Nc3 Bg4 Be2 Be7 Bf4 Bxf3 Bxf3 Nxd4 Bxb7 Rb8 Bd5 Bh4+ 2 d6 Nf3 exf4 d4 Nh5 Nd5 Bg4 Nxf4 Be7 Nxh5 Bxh5 Bf4 Nd7 Bb5 O-O Qd3 # id - ------------- 0 Crafty POS271 1 Crafty POS080 2 CCR.11
