Ever since I saw a game on this board where the computer went from opening books
to the end game and won I have made the same argument. You are no longer playing
a chess engine, but books, opening and closing.
I think there should be an option to use book and to the depth of those books.
It would be nice to see a 'standard' that all major programs follow, i.e. a
fixed depth on books and let the user decide if they want to play deeper.
Every time I bring up this topic, I get a lot of flak. Hope you get to go
further.
Bill
