Ng1 (I guess White can 'afford' this reciprocal move) what remains? Neither 8. ...Be7 nor 8. ...f3 seem to be going anywhere, in fact I think the advantage would pass to White after the latter. Looking at the position in chess terms, rather than computer terms, it's clear that Black's kingside pawn advance is unsupportable, and the opening has been 'bad for both sides'. White can also vary with 6. exd6 Bxd6 (presumably not ...Qxd6) 7. d4, and there's certainly no advantage there for Black, IMO. You may be interested, Eduard Gufeld has recently made a study of the attacking possibilities of early f4 and ...f5 in several openings. Here he recommends 3. Bc4, and 4. f4 only after 3. ...Bb4 Francis
