Dear Friends !
I used 3500 + tactical positions from the very interesting home page of
G.Ossimitz to test some top engines. I have Celeron 366A with 64 RAM. The time
control was just 60 seconds for solving each position. Here you can see the
results :
Fritz 5.32: 3012 out of 3514 = 85%
Fritz 5 : 2983 ............= 84%
Little Goliath Gold:2981 ....= 84%
Hiarcs 6 : 2959 ............= 84%
Junior 5.0 : 2953 ...........= 84%
Crafty 16.6 :2938 ...........= 83%

Each test lasted around 18 hours.
Sometimes I give the same position to differant engines to solve and then
compare thier answers. It maybe sounds strange but I find Nimzo 99 engine the
most useful of all. I found its approach the most human, if I can say like that.
And, please, sorry, Junior 5.0 proposes absolutely useless and often stuped
ideas.
Thanks
Anatoli
