We probably could have received more responses had it not been for the Rebel-Rohde match which has drawn so much attention. I should tell you that Hiarcs and Rebel were set at 40/2 for them to respond. The move by Rebel, Bxb2+, really made me flip for it has to be the wrong move. One can only wonder how such a supposedly top program could make such a mistake. Now, Kd2 doesn't impress me a whole lot because black doesn't have to leave his Bishop at g1. After a move like Kd2, I would consder Bh2 which seems like white is giving up a Rook for nothing! I fail to see how Kd2 is even worth considering. After Kd2 black plays Bh2 and then what does white play? Qg1? Then black can play Bf4+! After the exchange of Bishops, then what does white have?? I do not believe white can attain a draw by playing Kd2. I do believe that white has to capture the Bishop or else he's down a Rook with really nothing for compensation. Try Kd2...Bh2 and then Qg1...Bf4+! I honestly can't see Kd2 as a move worth considering. What do you think about it now? By the way, my Hiarcs 7 which is playing with only 160K maximum Hash Tables because on my computer - 64 megs of RAM - I cannot invoke the -x switch. The Ram is there but it just won't work even with the H701 update. Even the technician at ICD has tried to help but at this point we're waiting for MarK Unlacke to respond. It's been about a week and still nothing from Mark! Best regards, Mel
