Just after I sent the message, I took a look at the position and realzed that I was wrong about the bishop not being taken. Yes, Kd2 is playable and probably the best move for white. After 1.Kd2...Bxg1 2. Qxg1...I would consider Qd7. I haven't analyzed it much, but I believe black has to play Qd7. And then what does white do? I still feel that black is lost. It will take some patience but I see black in a winning position. I was surprised to see you also have a problem with invoking the -x switch for full Hash Tables on Hiarcs7. Have you tried the H701 update? I did but it didn't help. I have Windows 98 and have been told my the techician at ICD that there are people with Windows 98 who get full Hash Tables with the H701 update. We just don't know why I cannot accomplish the same thing. Mark has not as yet responded to our inquiry. It is so frustrating isn't it? Also, I've seen where people have played move 23 from Rebel-Rohde and their Hiarcs 7 played Rxb4. Well...my Hiarcs 7 (at 40/2) played exd4 same as Rebel! However, when I repeated this position at 40/2, the NEXT time it played Rxb4!! That was of course due to the learning feature. As for the Hash Table problem, try contacting Tim at ICD and see if he can help. Another option is to get the 7.32 which will run in Windows. However, it looks like this new version will have the chess board appear like Junior 5 which in the picture does not show algebraic around the border of the board. If you go to chess software at ICD, you'll be able to see the 7.32 and read the features. It looks like they changed quite a bit from the 7. I personally love the layout and user friendly features of the 7, and of course its intelligent strategical play. Best regards, Mel
