I doubt 44 games is even close to a record. I recently played more than
that in a rather ill advised quest to beat Mofongo at 2 0. I was eventually
sucessful but lost a bunch of rating points in the process (even with a few
draws along the way).
Some humans (such as myself) like to quit on a winning note. This can
lead to extended series of losses as you get more and more tired and play worse
and worse. Yet another edge for the programs.
