REBEL-CP (some hints in defence) As Lex already explained the current ChessPartner has its defaults settings focused for the mass-market. Of course this will not be the case for REBEL-CP. Here are some hints which will change ChessPartner into a chess program you are used too. You can download the REBEL piece-set from the Rebel pages at: www.rebel.nl/cp/rebelpcs.zip To install: - unzip the file into the BITMAPS sub-directory of ChessPartner. - you need to have an UNZIP program that supports long file names such as WINZIP. To activate the REBEL board: - Click RIGHT on the chess-board - Pick "Select Piece Set" from the menu. Later a few more REBEL piece-sets (smaller / bigger) will be available for download to make your chess life more convenient. Also have a look at the "Report2d" piece set. To change the colors of the board: - Click RIGHT on the chess-board - Pick "Properties" and then "Chessboard" from the menu, the normal Windows rules apply. ChessPartner is a full 32-bit standard Windows 95/98/NT application. It supports all the Windows standards such as: - screen-items are RIGHT-clickable. That is if you click RIGHT on a screen-item all its function are directly available (without the need to search in the pull-down menu) - all screen-items can be dropped anywhere on your screen just drag and drop, the normal Windows rules apply. This even is true for the button-bar on top. - you can re-size all screen-items to your favorite size (Windows standard rules) - ChessPartner supports all kind of standard Windows "copy & paste" possibilities to export data to other applications. - ChessPartner supports multiple in-line nested comments. - ChessPartner supports long filenames. The Statistic Window: Make sure to set information=all in OPTIONS/VIEW to view the results and maximum info of the chess engine. Move List: Enable as much as possible options for full data. Of course all this kind of things will be standard when REBEL-CP will be released so you don't have to configure it first. Ed Schroder
