UhOh...   Eugene, can you check this on your machine?  I just ran it and it
seems ok here.  Perhaps something is going wrong in optimizing?  IE do you
have something like purify to make sure I didn't introduce any wild memory
references are anything that would make this behave differently on linux and
NT?
