We all know that Kasparov finds them difficult because they have no ego for him to dominate! Apart from that, I agree with everything said -- both kinds of chess are important! Worth remembering that computers are by-and-large incapable of building an attack by positional means, only if they 'spot an opportunity'. Human plans can be much more 'deeply laid'. Also humans can sometimes defend much more resolutely (after all, who likes to lose? -- only Zen masters playing chess are beyond this!), since computers (this terminology is not fair on the hardware, of course) have 'unusual' ideas about king-safety etc. Francis
