About three hours ago, I sent an email to all active CCC members explaining the election process. If you have not received that email, it is very possible that the email address that we have on file for you is outdated. You may also have not received that email because you had requested at one time or another that we not email you. I am copying the letter below so that you will be aware of the election process. If you wish to have voting privileges in this election, we will need to have your correct email address. Please email us (yourmove@icdchess.com) with your EXACT user name (lower case and capitals letters where they belong) and your new address so that we may make the change. If you have not changed addresses but also have not received the email, it is possibly a mailer problem. Let us know. Don't forget to include your user name in the correspondence. As I mentioned in my post of May 24th, in order to vote, you must have been a CCC member PRIOR to May 24th. - Steve (ICD/Your Move) The email... Dear CCC Member, The CCC Moderator elections will start on Thursday, June 10th at noon (New York time) and will end on Wednesday, June 23rd at 5 P.M. (New York time). This should give everyone adequate time to vote. The nominees in alphabetical order are: Dann Corbit - dcorbit@solutionsiq.com Karins Dad - darmanus@worldnet.att.net Harold Faber - haraldf@bigfoot.com and harald.faber@brenntag.de Bruce Moreland - brucemo@seanet.com James Robertson - jrobertson@newmail.net Fernando Villegas - ferdinan@cmet.net Before today (Friday, June 4th) is over for us, we will put up the Moderator philosophies from the nominees who have sent them in to us as of now. As we receive the others, they shall be put up as well. This information may be found by clicking on the "Computer Chess Resource Center" link right from the CCC message board at: http://www.icdchess.com/ccc/ Three moderators and an alternate shall be elected; they shall serve from July 1st, 1999 until January 31, 2000. I strongly urge you to read these nominee moderation position papers and ask questions of the nominees on the message board up until the time that the polls open. On Thursday, June 10th, at noon, we will ask that all discussion related to the election and moderator positions end on the message board. If you wish to ask questions of the nominees from that point on, you may do so via email. Each member may vote for as many or as few nominees as he sees fit. But once your votes have been placed, you will not be able to re-enter the polling booth. Ongoing results will not be made available. The final results shall be announced when the polls are finally closed. While you are awaiting the election process, I welcome you to visit our extensive ICD/Your Move Ebay chess auctions at: http://www.icdchess.com/ebay.html As usual, if you have any questions or concerns, I can be reached via email at yourmove@icdchess.com or by phone, toll-free 1-800-645-4710 (U.S. & Canada) or 516-424-3300 from elsewhere.
