Go up one level in this thread

Ok Lawrence, you've drawn me into this one.

It's a shame that you took my comment as sarcastic as it was merely meant to be
humorous. Even you should understand that if you post a message dealing with
other people misspelling, you should not have any misspellings in your message
(unless you are purposely trying to be humorous).

If you think that this thread you started has ANYTHING to do with computer chess
and has been constructive, then you are sadly mistaken.

You started a serious (to you since you are his friend) thread on a subject that
has nothing to do with anything for anyone else on this forum and expected other
people to be serious as well. And so, people responded as one would expect them
to, non-seriously.

There have been numerous occasions where people have misspelled my handle and
the only response I made with regard to that is: "That's KarinsDad :)". You even
made an Elvis comment the other day and I didn't even respond (was that a random
stuff post on your part?).

If Mr. Rohde gets upset about how his name is spelled and was a member of this
group, I could see where he may be offended. If the posters who misspelled his
name did it on purpose (such as if I called you mrs lug :) ), I could see where
you may be offended.

But when it comes to an accidental misspelling due to the natural inclination to
spell it Rhode, then I think you are taking this WAY too seriously and making a
mountain out of a molehill (especially with this attitude of "You guys don't
play fair, so I'm taking my ball and going home.").

If you are tired of reading the random stuff, why did you post a random message
yourself? You cannot have it both ways. If you get bothered about other people
making mistakes, then you should not criticize them if you make mistakes
yourself. If other people posting off topic messages bothers you, then you
should not make off topic posts yourself.

This said, I will stop this particular off topic post here and move on.

KarinsDad :)

PS. Lawrence, I really respect you and hope that you do not take this post as
offensive because I truly understand you being annoyed at people making a
mistake over your friend's name. But, take a deep breath nonetheless. :)
