They were never as dominant as "scratchy", they have always been in the typical generic microcomputer range. It would have never occurred to me that this was scratchy. Scratchy almost never lost to anything, it had something like two rated losses, and this is not like that. It's not wimpy though, it feels like a normal well-written micro. I have never gotten any details out of them, sometimes when I ask questions the operator claims to be a minor member of the team, who has few technical details. If it isn't a home brew, then it is different from the typical guy who won't talk to you straight about hardware/software, in that his personality isn't offensive and he doesn't seem to be trying to maximize rating. The real story here is a mystery. I've tried to get them to be more public, for instance I've tried several times to get them to go to WMCCC's, but they seem content to stay back in the shadows. Maybe it's some guy running some commercial micro, but absent other evidence I take them at face value -- as a home brew. bruce
