In the past week or so I have seen results posted from F5.32-H7.32 games that appear to be played on 2 computers. These games suggest H7.32 is better but not overwhelmingly so i.e. the 20 game match at game/20 min reported by Chessbase. That ended 11-7, with 2 draws in favor of H7.32- an ELO difference of 80 pts. Then I see a number of posts reporting games apparently played in the same computer in engine v engine mode. These results show H7.32 winning almost every game. Now I am perfectly willing to accept the proposition that H7.32 is 80 pts stronger than F5.32. But I just cannot believe that H7.32 is 200+ pts stronger. Does anyone really believe that? Is engine v engine meaningful as a demonstration of the playing strength of the competing programs? eric
