Are there any limitations in the way that Windows 98 manages memory that would cause it to perform worse with 256 MB of RAM than it would with 128 MB or 64 MB? I know some of the fast searchers (e.g., Fritz) can make use of large hash tables, but I was wondering if it was counter productive if it slows down Windows 98. I have read a lot of conflicting information about this on the net. Some folks say that Windows 98 slows down with more than 64 MB. Others say 128 MB. And still others say there is no impact and you can never have enough RAM. Which is it? My assumption is the more RAM the better. I am strictly talking about a Windows 98 limitation, not the 64 MB caching limitation that some of the older motherboards/chipsets had. Len
