They do work, but they need a converter to work in a 32 bit environment.
I.e. there is a new .eng file necessary that plugs into H732.
This came e.g. with Fritz 5.32.
I don't know if Chessbase offer this for free, check their website.

BTW, if you're using WinNT, the 16bit engines will not run at all.
