There are "Nalimov" databases, and the parts of the filename are as follows: aaa.bbb[.ccc] .ccc is optional and will be .emd, which means these are _compressed_ databases rather than normal uncompressed ones. .bbb is either nbb or nbw, which means black to move (nbb) or white to move (nbw) aaa is a series of letters with two "k" characters. krpkr is one side having a king, rook and pawn, the other side having a king and rook. So a file named like krpkr.nbb.emd would be krp vs kr, black to move, compressed format...
