Dear Terry,

Unless you are at least a 2200 USCF player HIARCS 7.32 would crush, chomp and
chew you up as if it were Godzilla even with a 2 MB Hash Table. If you are
like me then you will enjoy being devoured. It is a tablebase program and thei
reduces the need for hashing.

I own World Championship Checkers and it has tablebases. I run it on an "old"
133 Pentium with no hash tables. It once announced a forced win in 86 moves.
No matter what I did the prediction rang true.

This silliness about mega-hash tables and enormous computer RAM is not
important. What is important is for you to play and enjoy your computer
opponent.

Bon Appetit,

Tim Frohlick

PS I also have a 64MB 333Pentium II and rarely use more than 13MB for Hash
tables.
