For Hiarcs, you have a simple way to find out:
edit the C:\windows\chssbase.ini and try if the path in the Tablebase section
allows a comma-separated list of paths.
If not, you're out of luck. :(

CSTal II can be instructed to look in several (I think 6 or 8 or so) directories
for the TB's...
