If non-English is the best someone can do, go for it, but a back and forth chat
about nothing in Italian is as bad as one in English.

The Gambitsoft forum is in German, but it says "other languages OK". I post
there sometimes. I don't whine about stuff being in German, if I want to read
what people are writing I assume that I'm the one with the problem, since it is
a German language forum, and I use Babel Fish to do my translating. When I
post, I post in English because I figure that I don't want to submit people to
an English -> German Babel Fish translation.

They welcomed me there despite my inability to speak German, and I think this
group should have the same attitude toward non-English speakers.

If someone starts flooding the group with an obscure dialect, and/or people
start carrying on violent (moderatable) arguments in non-English, I might have
to re-think, but I don't regard either of these situations as likely.

You aren't supposed to post private email in public places, that is common net
practice. There may be some legal issues but I am not a lawyer.

As a moderator I'd give blanket permission to post any email I sent as a
moderator, since the content of my email is part of the job in that case, and
people should be able to hold me accountable.

I got sucked into a big war yesterday and that was a mistake. These are simply
my positions as a moderator candidate, and anyone else if free to take whatever
position they like.
