You might also wish to add to your list the newer (and much faster) PPC processors. Although the OS is not mainstream for most, the processor is well optomized for integer math and the well written chess programs run quite fast. mHz for mHz they can complete the same tasks faster than the intel processors (but that is not the only measure of a processor) my decidely biased $0.02 William wbryant@ix.netcom.com
