After 1. Rad1 there are strong threats, but 1...Bd4! shuts down the d file and kills them. The main continations from there are 2. cxd4 Qxf3 3. Be4 Rxg2+ 4. Kh1 Rxh2+ 5. Kxh2 Qxf2+ 6. Kh3 Bc8! 7. Bg2 Qxf6 with advantage to black. An improvement is 2. Nxd4 Rxg2+ 3. Kxg2 Nxd4+ 4. Re4 Qg4+ 5. Kf1 Bxe4 6. Bxe4 Qe2+ and black's can draw by repetition, or go for an endgame with 6...Qxe4 7. Qxd4 Qxd4 8. Rxd4 with difficult endgame where black has a better pawn structure. On the other hand the line above, 1. Be4 Qg4 2. g3 d5 is given a +69 by Fritz. He disagrees strongly with 3. Kg2 though, giving it a -69, over a full pawn worse than 3. Rad1. But 1. Be4 definitely looks best, better than 1. Rad1, unless Fritz and I both overlooked something. ;)
