John, Keep up the good work. No, the programmers only laugh at the people who don't know how to program. They smile when the greenbacks come rolling in. Most of the chess players in CCC would probably be beat by good old Rexchess 2.3 on a 486/33. They would not be awed because instead of getting beat in 25 moves it might take 50 or 60 moves and the combinations and positional sense wouldn't be there. We keep on buying the programs because of the desire to have the "ultimate" chess-playing machine. That goal will probably never be reached. Even if the machines only fail to consistently beat the top ten world GMs they will still not be "good enough". Tim Frohlick
