Subject: Absolutely No Shame in Losing to GM Michael Rohde! Good try Rebel!!

Hi

I must admit I was a little stunned by Rebel's Loss to michael Rohde last
month , in it's 40/2 encounter. I expected rebel to atleast pull out a draw.
However, After visiting The Gambit Soft homepage today I just realized that
Michael Rohde is not an ordinary grandmaster, but Quite strong! He is Rated at
50th! in the World weighing in at 2589! No doubt the result may have turned
out differently had rebel seen the simple 26. Bg2!!. My view is that rebel
basically played very well, unfortunately it drifted into a position that
favored the human being which was strategical in nature. My advice to Schoeder
is to take alittle bit more time in preparing your opening book, to prevent such
positions in the future. I noticed from Rohde's commentary that he had no major
critisims of rebel's play, but thought it was mostly reasonable. Hopefully we
will hear more from Rohde on the game in his Monthly Chess life Article!.
